Paper Christmas Tree Greeting Cards
These Christmas cards are simply a cut-and-paste project that’s easy and fun for all age groups. It uses handmade marbled papers, I bought mine on Amazon from Paperhues, and papers made with gel printing methods. I first made these cards many years ago, but I never blogged about them till now. Taking a Gel Press zoom class with Susan Rossiter on SusanRossiter.com a few weeks ago spurred me to make them again.
All you need to get started is: half-fold cards, envelopes, marbled paper (if you aren’t going to print your own), a gel plate, brayer, acrylic paint, paper, glue (I prefer 3M Fast Drying Tacky glue), pinking shears, or a rotary blade cutter. I am a novice at gel printing, so my instruction in the video below is brief, but it is all that’s necessary for this project. Don’t worry if you don’t like your first few prints. I disliked several of mine. The nice thing about this project is that the ugliest prints make the prettiest Christmas trees. I think it’s the perfect way to learn gel printing. There’s no disappointment!
