Embroidered Jeans
I gave these old jeans new life with crocheted doilies and embroidery thread. Do you have a pair of jeans that fit fine but you don’t like them? That’s what these jeans were for me, so I decided to revamp them with crocheted doilies I found in the dollar section at Michael’s Arts and Crafts and DMC embroidery thread. Similar doilies are available on Amazon.com and Esty.com, but I discovered a Youtube video on making them, and it’s way simpler than I imagined. I am a novice at crocheting, so I made one to verify it. It took me less than three minutes to make this!
I secured the edges of the doilies well with hand stitching to prevent them from curling up after being laundered. Then, I used a Dritz disappearing ink pen to draw petals around the doilies. That gave me a guide to embroider along. I only used two stitches to create the petals: the buttonhole stitch and stem stitch.
This project took less than an hour to complete, and I love these jeans now. I hope you revamp an old pair of jeans from your wardrobe and you give this project a try.
