Seashell Macramé Napkin Rings
I made these plates on Shutterfly.com from imagery I created in the printshop Deluxe publishing program. I tie-dyed the fabric that I made the napkins out of, and then I made macramé seashell napkin rings to complete the look. See how to make the napkin rings in the video below.
This project was inspired by an activity book on seashells from my childhood, a set of new king-size sheets that my cat, Magellan, ruined shortly before he passed away, and a collection of seashells my sister gave me from a trip she took to the shore. Shutterfly.com made the plates from imagery I created in the printshop Deluxe publishing program. I started with the scanned image below and used the kaleidoscope effect in the publishing program to get the digital images I uploaded to Shutterfly.com.

I made the napkins out of a pricey set of grey Restoration Hardware sheets that my cat ruined less than a week after being put on my bed. I couldn’t really get upset about it. Magellan was very sick, but he was still insistent about getting on the bed by himself. Proud to the end, he refused to use the very nice set of stairs I bought for him to climb into bed. Instead, he clawed his way up every night with his back paws. After he passed in February, it seemed such a shame to throw away all that soft, luxurious fabric, so I made napkins out of it. I will share that process with you in my next post.
This brings me to today’s post. Watch the video below to see how I made the macramé napkin rings embellished with my sister’s seashells.
