Memory games are fun for kids and families, no matter their age. I made these memory tiles for a toddler’s teaching tool, but memory games are also beneficial for elderly family members struggling with memory issues. I painted these playful images on wood tiles that I purchased from Amazon. If painting isn’t your forte, cut, color, and paste clip art images to wood tiles with white glue.
Embellish b&w graphic images with colored pencils and markers, then paste them to wood tiles with white glue.
If you are thinking of making these for an elderly family member, you may want to use photographs of family members or images of the items they are having difficulty remembering. Varnish them with spray varnish when the paint and glue have dried for years of durability. Krylon Matte Finish is my favorite varnish. It dries quickly and consistently results in an even finish.
