Block Your Calendar
A "Happy Birthday" canvas is a perfect gift for the kid who has everything or any adult who loves having fun! This is one more way to use the block canvas concept. I made this for a friend who has two young girls. I hope it will be something they look forward to bringing out year after year as a special way of celebrating their birthdays. Using a diverse palette gives them the opportunity to use it with many different party schemes in the years to come.
Like the "Merry Christmas" canvas and "Happy Halloween" canvas, I planned this in the Broderbund program "The Print Shop". You are welcome to download the image I created and have one printed at signs.com, or paint one yourself. I used acrylic paint, Sharpie markers and a 24" x24" canvas. I masked off the squares with painters tape to get a clean edge, added a bit of glitz with glitter, and gave 3 dimensional detail to the cupcake with hot glue.
