Making 2D & 3D Butterfly Garlands
Are you missing your family and friends? I am, and I can hardly wait for the moment when I can hug and kiss my family and friends without concern. I have been imagining big barbecue/pool parties full of warm embraces, with guests sitting shoulder to shoulder around the patio table sharing a meal. Sadly, summer parties like that are a distant future for us at this point, but there’s no reason why we can’t dream about them and start planning for them now. It will be so fabulous to finally hug our friends and family, and there’s no better theme for a party celebrating an exit from the pandemic than the universal symbol of renewal, “BUTTERFLIES”. These butterfly garlands look just as beautiful inside the house as they do out on the patio, so you can put them everywhere!
In the meantime, you can pass some of your time sheltering in place making them. They are fun and easy to make. I’ve even provided some completed templates below for you if you are timid about coloring your own. Print them on white or light colored card stock, follow the instructions on the video below and start working on a menu for your party. It’s good to dream! It releases endorphins that make you happy, and we can all use a little happiness!
If you want a head start on coloring your butterflies, print the templates above. Embellish them further with markers, glitter gel pens or chalk pens, or you can use them as they are now. Don’t be deterred by the haphazard approach I’ve used to color these in. It truly has no bearing on the appearance of the final product. It’s shocking how good they look once they have been cut out and put together.
