Evil Eye Deck Shoes

The evil eye dates back to approximately 1500 BC and has been embraced by many different cultures around the world. The folklore of its supernatural power may or may not hold any truth. I think that depends on the person who’s wearing it. The notion that they ward off evil spirits makes me happy either way. And, considering the state of our world, I thought there was no better time than now to complete this project.

Honoring Heritage

These quilts are a glimpse of my family’s heritage. A testament to their hard work, dedication, and simple roots, and every time I wrap myself in them, I feel the love of all the hands that created them.

Donut you want a donut?

This project ticked several of my favorite boxes. Plays on words, fabric painting, embroidery, and donuts are all high on my fun list. Add them all together, and you get an adorable dress for an adorable kid. I made this whimsical chambray dress for the newest member of our family.

Artist Trading Cards

My family lives by the thought that what you do on New Year’s Day is what you will do all year long. Does it work? Well, that depends on the person. I see it as a way of setting your intentions for the year. If you are good at following through with your intentions, then yes, it works. That being said, sometimes I am successful.

Glitter Sugar Skulls

I finished the Glitter Sugar Skull - Dollar Tree Hack post so late last night that the lighting in my studio wasn’t adequate to take these photos. I wanted to provide these detailed photos for those of you who want a little inspiration. There are endless ideas on the internet too, and many of them are free to print. Just Google Sugar Skulls and click on Images. A menu will appear below Images. Click on “printable.” You can print out designs and practice squeezing the glitter glue onto them if you want to practice a little first.
